We were thinking about just getting one way tickets for the outbound leg now that we are leaving a few days after the original departure since it's cheaper then the change fees. We are going to be having a baby so we needed to change the departure date to accomodate. Can we still use the original return portion of ou round trip ticket even if I don't use the outbound portion? Anyone in airline ticketing who would be helpful in answering this...... Thanks!

  1. No - if you do not show up for the outbound flight, the airline will automatically cancel your return flight.

  2. Try to contact the airline company and make arrangement with the change of date with your flight. (that is if there are available seats on your desired departure date)

  3. No... and the airlines are very strict about that.  If you just dont show up for it ( the outbond flight) the entire tickets get cancelled.

Call the airline and tell them what happend. Sometimes they make excpetions.
