  1. manila folder - generic term for all folders; could be made in the phillippines or china or korea. same thing.

  2. Yes.  The Manila folder can easily be ripped off.   It looks, feels, and really is paper.   This fact is more keenly felt when you have made such a wonderful resume, typed so clean and tidy, and dry ... and then all of a sudden comes the rain.   And that resume was inside the Manila folder.  The folder is sodden as well as its contents.

I say always go for plastic.

Get this tool that Sherlock Holmes uses to enlarge whatever he sees.  You might find the label eventually.

  3. considering it was probably sold to you buy a chinese merchant, just accept it as is.

the girl down there is an Oasis fan.  am i right?

  4. No you are not. Manila Folder is the brand name. Even its made in China they still need to name it as Manila folder because that is the trade mark and the material they use in it is from the Philippines, like abaca.

  5. I don't think so !  See explanation below.

The manila folder is a holder designed to contain documents. It is generally formed by folding a large sheet of stiff card in half. Though traditionally beige, sometimes other colors are used to differentiate categories of files.

The manila component of the name comes from manila hemp or abaca, from which manila folders were originally made. Manila hemp is native to the Philippines and the term manila folder is named after its capital city.

  6. =O no, you did not get ripped off. and thats mean =(

  7. "Manila" folder, or paper refers to the paper quality and format... No matter where it was made.

  8. You probably were.

If it was really made in Quangxing or any province of China. Then you know somebody made money, the Company owner, the interpreter, their lawyer, the inspector, the middleman, the shipper, the forwarder, the importer, the retailer, the guard, the cashier, ...

So no wonder you paid 99 cents for a .01 cent folder.

    Yes, you got ripped off.

  9. Me thinks... Philippines exported the manila hemp to China, China processed it to produce manila folders then exported to Philippines and other countries. Everything seems to be made in China now, well except cars.

I wouldn't feel ripped off, if the quality is at par.
