now I read that the water can cause electrolyte imbalance...I'm scared, the concentrated kind you have to add water so I add 1/2 water and 1/2 formula will my baby be okay? I also boil the water first.

  1. boiling isn't necessary

electrolyte imbalance is only caused by giving improperly mixed formula or straight water

  2. Buy distilled water for your baby's bottles.

  3. Yes your baby will be okay. You have to add water to make the formula. What they mean is straight water.

  4. I use the nursery water.  You can buy it at your local grocery store or at Walmart.  It comes in a gallon jug for around $1-$1.50.  I just don't trust of local water.  I tried boiling water with my 1st and it was a pain so I just started using the nursery water.  I'm not sure what caused electrolyte imbalance, but just mix it the way the directions say and you should be fine.
