I broke my ankle in January (8 months ago), now when I walk I hear loud clicking sounds. Why?

I had a trimalleolar ankle fracture in my right leg back in January from roller skating. I am still recovering, but often when I have been sitting for long periods of time and I get up to walk, my ankle clicks very loudly. I had a plate and 3 screws inserted in a surgery, could it be from that?

Possibly... But if that' s the worst symptom you're having from a recent trimalleolar fracture, consider yourself lucky! Nearly two years and 3 surgeries later, I'm still not at 100%.

There could be something wrong with the way it healed. You need to talk to your Dr about it. You might need physical therapy. Your Dr can tell U if he or she thinks U might need it. I broke my ankle in 3 places about 4 yrs ago. I had to do physical therapy after surgery.

when you sit for long periods try move the right foot around
