  1. If you pay all termination fees and the remainder of the lease, you won't have any bad mark on your credit. BUT if you DON'T, you can pretty much say good-bye to ever getting another one -- unless you pay a HUGE upfront security deposit and get a co-signer -- or going with someone who doesn't do credit and rental history checks.

    Breaking a lease without due cause is tantamount to being evicted.

  2. I broke a lease because I lost my job and needed to move to another state.  The complex charged me an arm and a leg but didn't do anything to my credit since I paid everything they asked for.

    If you left on good terms and paid any bills due to the landlord, chances are that you will never see anything on your credit.
