I broke my camera screen, can I replace it or do I buy a new camera?

I was leaning on a surface, didn't see my camera because it was under a plastic bag, and I guess the pressure of my elbow put a dent in the screed. The LCD screen actually looks pretty smooth, there is no actual crack but it is damaged and it cannot take photos properly. This particular camera is a simple Nikon L11.

  1. Forget about repairing it and go for a new one, and be carefull not to break it again. Good luck.

  2. What i would suggest, if you really like the camera then its worth having it repaired if you hate it then get a new one.  If money is the issue i would recommend going to contacting Precision Camera.  On the Precision Camera web site you can get a free instant price quote from their  you can decide.

  3. DON"T get just the screen fix hun

i bet you as much as it will cost you to fix it you can just get a brand new camera with that money

if i were you i would just rather get a new camera

try to connect it to the computer first to see if you can be able to still save the pictures you had on it

  4. The camera should still take photos just fine and unless the LCD does not display the image so you can compose the shots, just keep using it until it fails all together.

You may want to have a repairman look at the camera, but generally it is less expensive just to get a new one.

Your camera was released just over a year ago and should have lasted you for another couple of years, but if it costs more that about $60 to replace the LCD, you may be better off just buying a new camera .... one that uses the same memory card you have now.
