Question:

I broke my glasses!?!?

I got the type of glasses that at the bottom they are rimless and lens are held on by a clear string thing. Well I accidentally crushed them and both of the clear strings ripped and the lens fell out and I ended up losing one of the lens. Do I just go with my optimerist or what? How much to fix? Any extra info will be helpful.

  1. You will definitely need to go back to him/her to get it fixed. They will order a replacement lens and will re-attach it to the frame.

Not sure about the price of it though.

  2. If your prescription is not expired, you can take the leftover pieces of your fram to an optical (eyemasters, lenscrafters, wherever you got them from) and have them remake the lens that broke. They will have the "clear string thing" and should be able to re-set the lens and tighten it back up to your frame.  If your frame is destroyed they may have you buy a new one altogether.  Don't know how much this will cost.  depends on the optical.

  3. you need to get one lens replaced for sure. the string thing is called nylon and only costs about $10 to be replaced. it shouldnt be more than one day without your glasses but some people will even do it on the spot.
