  1. Try taping it to the next toe to keep it straight but not too tight just enough to get them to stick together.

  2. They can't do much for a broken toe unless it's broke in the growth plate or into the foot....tape it to the toe beside it and pinky...a good shoe will also help.  I shattered both bones and my ankle almost 5 yrs ago...worst pain imaginable other than being burned alive...but my son has a bone disease and breaks bones just by a bump...he's had so many fractures we lost count...he just got out of a cast about 2 weeks ago.  He's 15 now and the first time on his bike this yr flipped over the top and broke his foot in 2 places...including chipping a piece of bone.  UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH  Ruined his summer!!!!!!!!!!!!  As bad as his disease is though...if he breaks a toe or finger...they cast him...because if they don't he's more prone to the break spreading and causing more damage or because he's favoring it...cause something else to break.  I have managed to break my toes several of them within the past year.  I was mad and went through the house like a bat out of h**l and hit them on my exercising machines, chairs, whatever...Rest and take some pain meds....FEEL BETTER SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. just cut it off

  4. Wrap the broken toe and it's neighbor together with tape. This is called buddy taping. Your toe should heal after a few weeks. Unless you have a compound or complete fracture, there is probably no need to go to the doctor.

  5. What you should do is tape it to your index toe and wear flipflops or open toe sandals all the time. Also try to stay off your foot as much as possible.

Hope your toe gets better soon.

  6. I've broken toes before, and honestly, you can handle it better than a doctor can.  Doctors can't do much for broken toes.  They're just going to tape it to the next one so it heals as straight as it can.  You could probably do a better job since how tightly you tape depends on your pain tolerance.  A doctor would just tape blindly.

Just remember to keep the broken one as straight as you can when you tape it, otherwise it will heal in an unsightly curl (the last two toes on my right foot curl under because they weren't taped straight enough).  Other than taping it, just be careful walking on it.  We use our toes for balance, and it's not until we've hurt them that we realize how much we need them.  You could potentially re-injure your toe if you're not careful enough throughout the healing process.  Also, take some ibuprofen or some kind of similar pain reliever.

    Good luck!

  7. The doctor can't do anything for your toe anyways, even if you do go to see him. Take ibuprofen for the swelling and interchange with Tylenol. If you tape it to the second toe it will work as a splint, or you can splint it if that feels better. Ice it and elevate and wear a slipper so as not to bump it on anything and aggravate it.

  8. first cut the toe out nd send it to someone in a box!!!
