I was playing with my volleyball in the house[when i wasn't supposed to], and it landed on my mom's lamp and now the neck of it broke off! She won't be home until night, but I don't know what to say to her. I have to tell the truth because my sister already knows the truth and she would tell my mom the truth if I lied. What do I say to her the best way without making her mad?

  1. tell her the truth, lieing will get you in more trouble.

  2. Tell her- Mom, I was playing with my volleyball inside, just gentally and I broke the lamb. I am really really sorry and i'll never do it again. I'll help you pay for a new one. Please don't be mad.

  3. sticky - tape it

  4. Tell her you are sorry and offer to buy her a new one, Either way she will probably be mad.

  5. Say: "Look mom, I want to be totally honest with you. I was watching the Olympics and I was inspired by the dedication and comitment the US volleyball team has displayed. I now know what I want to do with my life. Unfortunatly, in my eagerness to begin practicing I accidentally broke your lamp. I'm sorry, but I hope you can support my desire to be the best."

If she doesn't buy that, try blaming it on terrorists.

  6. Just tell the truth. Admit you were wrong to have been playing inside, say sorry and offer to replace the lamp with your own money from your allowance. After that she'll see that you handled that problem like an adult, you didn't try to lie about it or cover it up. She'll get upset over the lamp but more likely she'll be proud because you handled the situation well.

oh one more thing tell her you learned the lesson and you won't do it again. :) Good Luck!
