I broke my spring tension on bmx bike need help

i was working on my breaks cause they were squeakin and i broke the spring on the left side, any tips on how to replace the spring without replacing the breaks

It depends a little on which brake you have, but go to a bike shop and chances are that they'll have a replacement spring for you from an assortment parts box.  If not, they may have a scrap brake in back that they can get the spring from.   Or...they can almost always order one for you.    

Brake calipers aren't all that expensive, though, so if it ends up for some reason that you have to buy a new one, you can get decent ones from $15 to $30.
