  1. First of all don't leave swin training up to a device.  If you want your daughter to learn to swim and be comfortable find a reputable swim teacher in your area and be out the little extra money to do it right.  With the proper training even small children can be taught to swim and feel confident in the water.

  2. It's not supposed to keep you afloat, that's why it's called a swim trainer not floaties.  It's supposed to keep you somewhat afloat when you are learning your strokes and how to stay above water.  A 20 month old probably can not do this.

  3. did you buy this jacket at walmart or target??? I knew a lady who bought these and had the same problem I took her back to the hunting and fishing section and helped her buy an approved life vest. If your unsure what to look for then you can ask anyone and they will point you in the right direction. Bring her with so you can try it on her. It might be a bit snug over her clothes but at that young of age they have an ajustable strap that goes between the legs to hold the life vest from going up by the ears.

  4. You must have bought the lead coated one.  The one guaranteed to last a life time and doubles as a boat anchor.
