I brought out frozen chicken this morning and forgot to put it in the refrigerator for 4 hours. Is it okay?

I took it's external temperature and it was 48.7 degrees. It's vacuum packed.

I would use it...make sure it is cooked well...like baked.

Some times I think we get a little carried away....My mom use to thaw her turkey on the side board....I lived in her house for 18 years and never got sick once....

Now if you had left it out for 2 days you would need to throw it out.....

I do it all the time.  I know its not recommended but I still do it.  Never been sick.

It is still okay, I thaw mine in salt water at room temp and it takes almost all day to thaw.

You are fine... The chicken was frozen and I can't imagine the chicken going bad in 4 hours.

Also, you said the chicken is vacuum packed so you don't have to worry about bacteria falling onto it.

If it was frozen solid, it's probably just getting thawed out - so it should be fine.....
