I brush my teeth with baking soda, does this have any ill-effect on my health since I can swallow some of it?

I do this after brushing with toothpaste. How true this will make my teeth whiter? Thanks

  1. i dont know how it affects ur teeth, but swallowing a little should be no problem. its barly corrosive and would be neutralized by stomach acid.


  2. The amount you would ingest should be completely safe. However, if you use it on your teeth too much it can cause some abrasion and wear away enamel. I normally only recommend using once a week, and be sure to brush very gently when using it.

  3. it cant harm you, toothpaste is baking soda based. it is the same as using toothpaste

    and youll be fine as long as you dont swallow like the whole package haha

  5. My grandmother used to tell me that it made teeth whiter, and I still use it.  It can't harm you, it is in some foods!
