i optim ized and coded my sites and they stayed on google for 2 months first and second pages. now most are not on google anymore. should i resubmit them to the search engines manually all the time to stay on google. i submitted them when i first built them. i also have been working at a steady pace to keep upgrading their content to add weight to the pages to help my rank. they were showing up on first and second pages until a few days ago. why and what can i do to keep them well optimized.

  1. If your website is eliminated after 2-3 months from Google.com's PR search database, it is due to the following:

    1)  Your opening webpage contains "spamdexed/duplicate" entries in the major SEO metatags;

    2)  You have visible or hidden spamdexed text which is often disguised as promotional copy.  For example, you repeat many times, similar sentences and descriptions as hard copy.

    3)  You have links which are not relevant to your website and a Google editors has spotted those failed back links and reported your website via spamreport@google.com for removal of your URL/domain name from Google's searchable database.

    You may want to reexamine your opening webpage(s) to see if any of the following conditions can be remedied.

    Good luck!

  2. You should consider adding meta tags to your site

    You need back links to help your page rank.

    Submit your site to as many directories as possible.

  3. You want to select a few key phrases that you want to optimize for. You should watch your keyword density, there's several online services you can use to help analyze your site. Remember that search engine result pages (SERPs) are fluid, and chance frequently based on the different search engines' algorithms. You shouldn't resubmit your sites to the various engines as this can affect your rank adversely. As long as you follow SEO best practices, and take careful consideration of your content (and the HTML that you use to display that content), you should be able to help your sites rank.

  4. Hi John,

    I think the problem may be your bounce rate.  The amount of time a user spends on your website is relative to the bounce rate.  If they are there greater than 2 minutes Google deems the site worth higher ranking....Too many people exiting in less than 2 minutes means Google ends up deeming it less relevant even if your text and content is all highly relevant.  I wrote a blog post that relates to this in discussing real estate marketing.  Google Analytics can provide you with reports on the bounce rate of each page.

  5. Google has recently been cracking down on paid text links, link farms, and spam. Google also just went through an index cleaning. You may want to clean up any other the previous, register with Google Webmaster Tools and when you meet all Google guidelines submit a "request for reconsideration" also include a note about what you cleaned up and they will return you to the index.
