I built a deck and put plastic under it now I have mosquitoes really bad, how do I get rid o?

  1. Try covering the plastic with pea gravel or mulch to get rid of the standing water.


  2. I would poke holes in the plastic if possible so the water drains away.  If still a problem, don't they make some type of mosquito killer that is in the form of big pellets(used in wetlands, etc to control) that you could toss under the deck where there is standing water?

  3. See if you can poke some holes in it using a wire clotes hanger or really long piece if metal to fit between the deck boards. Flood it with some bleach water to kill the mosquitos. After every rain spray some mosquito killer.

  4. Poking holes in the plastic defeats it's purpose.  Can you remove the plastic and re-level the ground under it to keep the water from puddling?  Or build it up in the middle so the water can drain away?  If not then a larvacide or removing the plastic entirely may be your only solutions.
