I burned a DVD from my computer and watched it on my DVD player but it says Codecs error?

I downloaded the simpsons season 5 from a torrent site , and then burned it onto DVD, then put the DVD into my home theater but the dvd player doesnt play and says "codec error"

what do i do to get it working?

It sounds like the video format of the Simpsons season you downloaded is not compatible with your DVD player but I can't be sure without knowing more. A lot of videos on torrent sites are avi, mpgs, and other formats not DVD. Increasingly DVD players are able to play these formats, but not all are able to especially if it is a little older.

If you were able to, you could just download the necessary codecs in order to play the video and install them on your DVD player. This however is not possible in most cases.

Your best bet would be to check what formats your DVD player is able to play and download videos accordingly.

Oh, or just watch it on your computer.

did you choose video format while burning the dvd, make sure that you choose video tab while starting the burn process and not data disc tab!!!
