Question:

I burned my t-shirt; can I fix it?

I laid my damp t-shirt across my lamp to dry before tossing it in the clothes bin (so the damp t-shirt didn't smell mildewy) and it touched the lightbulb. Now there's a brown stain on there that I tried rinsing with cold soapy water, but it's not coming out.

Did I basically wreck the t-shirt?

  1. Lay it on the ironing board,  moisten a cotton cloth with hydrogen peroxide, lay the cloth on the stain, and iron with a hot cotton setting. This works great on most cotton fabrics. Good luck!

  2. Yers you did, you can't 'clean' a burned spot...

  3. yeah. i don't think you can fix it, unless maybe you bleach it.

thats pretty cool that you burned your t-shirt,

you should burn the whole thing and then you would have a brown shirt! :]

  4. Sorry but chances are it is wrecked. A burn is a burn, it doesn't clean away.

Depending on the location you could try applying a cool applique, fabric patch, or even stencilled design over the burn.
