I buying a 1986 chris craft 18' boat w/a 140 merc engine?

the boat seems in good condition, so what are some cool upgrades i can do both performance and looks.

Seeing a pic of this boat wold greatly help but there are a few things that you can do. SS performance prop, update the guage package, repaint if needed, upgrade the engine, not much that you can do to a 4 cyl. but there are a few limited things you can do. To tell you the truth there are not many things you can do with an inline 4 cyl. I would say repower but being an inline engine the motor mount would be in the front, by repowering like to a V-6 or even a V-8 you would have to modify the engine compartment to accept the motor mounts on the side. If you want to spend that kind of money then you could repower to a V-6. Unless you repower your upgrades will be mostly in looks
