I called my Psychiatrist last night and left a messege saying I am taking my meds like I should, but I'm ?

depressed every night, and crying like a wuss. He is retiring soon, and he has no referals. I dunno if it's having some lady break it off with me over a month ago (which I can't blame her), or if it's my uncle dying, or the medication, or the stress of school. This is not working though.

What is this crazy psychiatrist going to do with this messege? I bet he will drop me and say stop taking the medication. That would be alright with me.

  1. You're under alot of stress now.  There's plenty on your plate.  Being depressed over your break up and your uncle passing away is understandable.

I highly doubt your psychiatrist will drop you.  It's unethical.

If he doesn't have a referral, go to your medical doctor and ask him/her for a referral.  If none is known, call your local hospital.  They will most certainly have a list of psychiatrists.

You may have to try one or more to make sure you have a good fit.  But, it's worth it in the long run.

Stay on your meds in the meantime, unless you're told to go off them.

And remember it takes time to recover from the two losses you've experienced.

Hang in there.  You'll find a psychiatrist that'll help you.

  2. If your psychiatrist is a good one, he won't be anything but concerned...tell him you can go on, but just need to talk...if not, get your hands and knees, and pray to God, through Jesus ,to hear you and give you the strength to get through this.you will make it, i know you will..xx

  3. If you decide to come off meds you will feel better because you have told yourself you would be better without them, so you would feel better yes BUT only short term, you will go back to feeling crappy in no time. You are on meds for a reason. I suggest you ask for different meds because the ones you are taking simply do not work, you need to find the right med for you. I tried 3 types before i found one that suited me.
