Name.

address.

Social Security Number

home and cell phone numbers on it.

Should I call and inform the person about it or should I turn it in to the bank to be destroyed, because having all that information could really cause alot of problems for a person, it just was not in one area of the bill, it was all over the bill front and back. someone told me to just pass it on, I think it needs to be turned in and that person should be informed about it so they can protect their information..

  1. Obviously, the right thing to do is to call the person.  If this bill has his information on it, then it's very likely that other similar bills are floating around out there with his information on them.  It sounds as if someone wanted revenge, and they probably wrote his information on several bills.

As a matter of fact, I'll bet that when you call the number, it's either disconnected or no longer belongs to this man.  I'm betting that some other person has already tipped him off, and that he's changed his SS# and his phone#.

  2. call them, personally I wouldn't be able to resist the urge. call  them and ask them what they would like you to do.

That is quite a bit of very important/dangerous information.

    Please Post what happened :)

    and don't forget my 10 points :)

  3. Destroy it yourself and forget everything you read. Don't trust the banks.

  4. maybe the person wrote someone's on their because they were trying to wreck that persons life as revenge. I think a cop would be more interested in that then the bank.

  5. It's their fault their info was on it in the first place. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

  6. get it back to them

  7. Take it to the bank...they will put it in the mutilated money and give you another $20 bill.

  8. You're right. You need to call and tell the person about it and warn them to be more careful next time. <3

  9. I totally cannot see why someone would write their social security number of a $20 bill and hence I think someone has done this just to fool around. You may be going out of your way to call this person and have good intentions and then end up in a bigger problem – you never know… what if this someone asked to see you to get their money back; will you trust a complete stranger? So maybe the best thing to do is to destroy it and forget about it. However, if you feel obligated to contact that person, do so from a public phone and do not agree to meet with him/her under any circumstances…

By the way, this is a very interesting question.

Please come back and tell us what happened when you come to select a best answer. :)

  10. You should call the FBI and have them arrested for defacing money. It's a federal crime, you know.

  11. Just to be on the safe side you should bring it to the bank. It could easily fall into the wrong hands and something really bad could happen. If you want, you could call them and ask them if they knew about it and you could tell them that you are going to give it to the bank to be destroyed but i don't think that you should pass it on. I think that the person whose information is on the bill is really lucky that you got it not someone who might do something with the information. Hope I helped! :]

  12. i hope you call this person.it may have been the only thing a person of taking down fraudulent information had at the time of aquiring such info. you may be able to trade money with them to make sure the bank dont redistribute it

  13. tell them and turn it in to the bank

  14. do whatever you want with it because it's their fault they wrote that info on it how stupid can you be to write that? now help me    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  15. i'd say switch it at the bank. although that person may have done it themselves, it could have been someone else who did it without them knowing. or you can call and see if they answer and tell them what you found to warn them about it. i know i would appreciate it.

  16. it's there for a reason. just pass it on.

  17. Since you are worried, I would take it to the bank and ask them if they could change it and let them decide on the next action. Your conscience is clear and now it's up to them.

  18. call the person, they will be very greatful.

One day someone faxed my office with all of their information on it by mistake, it was supposed to be going to an insurance company. I called the person and told them they faxed the number and let them know I shredded it, She was so relieved when I let her know

  19. Go to the bank and trade it in. They have protocol in situations like this.

  20. Call them deff!!! I would hope someone would call me and tell me.

  21. Taking it to the bank would be the nice thing to do. If it really is a social security number this person needs to put out a fraud alert as soon as possible.

  22. Personally I would call the person and let them know. You could always take it to the bank after and get it exchanged.

If not, then take it to the bank and have them call the person I guess. Maybe try bringing it to one of the 'desk' people or a manager, not a teller?

  23. contact the person so they know that the bills are floating around out there. Someone with a grudge probably did it and should not get away with it. Then go to the bank and trade it in for another and request thaT they destroy it.
