I came across a philco philcophone model 901

Any specs or anything about it, please let me know, have no idea how to use it, it makes a clicking humming noice when you turn it on and all the transistors light up. please help. interested bout it

  1. Good Pictures, I have two good posts to help you. Watch yourself with this radio ( note: keyword Philcophone also has no radio dial probably a shop intercom from the 1930's) it's all metal could be a electrical shock hazard. The humming is caused by a dried out electrolytic capacitor, the one in the silver container to the top left. As a start all capacitors should be changed out, good luck with your restore.

    As a side note: If your not into restoring look in the phone book for a Radio-TV repair shop (the older the better) near you, they can help in repairing or tell you who might repair antique radios in your area or in Pittsburgh.
