Called an Opel Omega Carleton Lotus, or something like that (1990)...are these decent cars as we do not have them in the USA, or am I looking at a big money pit? I can get used to the RHD, I will have to adjust to shifting with my left hand though (it`s a 6 speed????!!!..why??)

  1. Ah the lotus carlton (UK), Opel Omega (Europe), it's a great car & extremely rare! (you are pretty much right on all counts!) It was hugely expensive to buy when it first came out (£48000!) a good one will probably still be worth not much less than that. It pretty much beats the pants off of any other large sports saloon too. It may not be a proper money pit but parts are bound to be rare go for a good one & look after it & you should be fine!

  2. for starters, it's called Opel Omega and was sold as the Vauxhall Carlton in the UK. Opel paired with Lotus to make a limited run (950) of more powerful twin-turbo versions, typically called the Lotus Omega. it could do 0-60 in just over 5 seconds, and was at the time the most powerful 4-door ever (and it's still one of the fastest)
