  1. don't listen to this girl she don't know what she's talkin about maybe she got confused that a green card is valid for 10 years then expires....but anyways did you apply for it get fingerprint take pictures and such...because it took about  two years to finish the whole process for me and my family.....we came from Ethiopia but not DV so I'm not 100% sure what the different might be.

  2. If you want a green card, you have to be a resident on US soil for at least 10 years buddy. A VISA, then after 10 years, you are eligible to get a green card.

My cousin first came here for education, she had a student visa. Lasted about a year or two after she got her college degree, but she made deals with companies that she ended up working for, so she said that they should give her a business visa and an insurance, and she's work for them. She makes a bit over $9000 a month.

If I were you, I'd get a job fast.

  3. This folks have no idea as to what they are talking about. Don't answer a question if you don't know the answer to it.

Anyways man, i hope u didn't move since you entered the US as the address u had on ur forms when the immigrant visa was issued is were USCIS will send ur plastic greencard.

Since its been more than 30 days and u haev not received welcome letter or the greencard itself, i will definitely advise that you call USCIS customer service. They might be able to help ya. Don't be stressed out. The immigrant visa on ur passport should be good for a year. U are a permanent resident and u can apply for SSN and can get a job too.
