I can't IM one of my friends without a colon, what is going on?

Okay I tried to IM one of my friends and I couldn't see anything. But then I IMed her a D: and it worked. So I IMed her sentances with a : at the front of them and senctances with a : in the middle and that also worked, but when I put the colon at the end it wouldn't show. When I tried to IM other friends they could see it perfectly well. After my friend logged off and went to meebo I still couldn't IM her without a colon. When she logged back onto AIM I could IM her normally. What is going on and why is it?

probably just a glitch. but at least its working now, huh? the next time that happens, try emailing aol to tell them about the problem.
