I can't afford housing near my new internship in New Mexico. Is there a way to get free/cheap housing?

I'm from Detroit, and as we all know things are not going well here.... So, I'm finding work elsewhere. This is an unpaid internship, so I will have to get a part-time job, but I don't want to work 80 hours a week to get by.

ummm....welll try a boarding house if u could i heard those are really helpful im not sure if there would be any near you though.
