  1. you can't make a latte with a coffee maker no more than you can make Koolaid with it...

    you gotta:

    make a pot of coffee in the morning...

    and leave it out for a couple of hours..

    then pour some in a glass

    add some sugar to fit your taste

    add lots of milk and ice

    or you can simply go to macdonalds and buy their iced coffees, they're kinda good and way less than starbucks

  2. You could try this recipe:

    This coffee shake is a thick and chilly delight, flavoured with coffee and chocolate. The trick to making it thick, is the instant chocolate pudding mix.

    INGREDIENTS:

        * 1 cup coffee, strong and cold

        * 1 cup cold milk

        * 10 ice cubes

        * 1/3 pkg of instant pudding mix (chocolate)

        * 2 tbs cocoa powder

        * Hazelnut creamer, to taste

        * Sugar, to taste

    PREPARATION:

    Combine everything in a blender, and blend until ice is crushed and shake is thick.

  3. It's actually quite easy to make at home, though you might want to invest in a cheap espresso machine that just does the basics--even the cheapest on the market will get you a higher quality espresso shot than starsucks.  If you do get a machine, all you need to do is mix 1-3 shots of espresso (depending on your preference) with any flavored syrups that you might like (Sterling is my favorite brand of syrup that's made specifically for espresso-based beverages, but there are others such as Torani and Monin).  Pour that mixture over ice and add nonfat milk and you've got yourself your iced latte.  Now, if you can't afford an espresso machine, you could always attempt to brew especially strong coffee in your regular pot (you could grind the beans finer, use more grounds, less water, etc) but it really won't taste the same.  If you do happen to have a coffeemaker that uses "pods," you might be able to buy espresso pods from the manufacturer.  Your next best options are moka pots or french presses--those will more closely simulate espresso, but it's just not the same.  Espresso is brewed by forcing steam through the grounds, while the other methods use boiling water and gravity, for the most part.

  4. brew about 4 ounces (half a cup) of extra strong coffee in your coffee maker.  fill a large glass about 3/4 full with ice cubes.  pour the coffee over the cubes.  Then fill the rest of the glass with non fat milk.

    I like to make mine with Foldger's chocolate truffel coffe because it adds just a hint of chocolate flavor without all the syrup.

  5. Drink your coffee hot and black like a real man, dammit!

  6. save up for an espresso machine with a steamer. All you really need is steamed milk and espresso.

  7. An acceptable substitute would be to brew a pot of dark roast coffee,put it in a covered container and refrigerate. You don't mention if you like flavoring but you can buy coffee syrups in the coffee aisle at the supermarket. To make; fill a large glass with ice cubes, add flavor [1oz], fill 3/4 with cold coffee and top with skim milk. Pour back and forth into another glass until mixed and frothy. Enjoy!

  8. You can get coffee concentrates. I use them all the time very good for blended and iced coffees.

    They are usually near the dairy section and should be kept refrigerated

    Get some vanilla syrup and go for it.

  9. without an espresso machine you're outta luck. You can't make a latte w/o espresso. Regular coffee will not give you the same bang for your buck. Regular coffee makers are not made to handle espresso.

  10. Do you really need to have a latte every morning?

  11. first of all, coffee is really bad for you. second of all coffee is really bad for you, thirdly, coffee is really bad for you. or if you want to risk your health, buy an espresso machine.(easy as that!)
