under religion shouldn't there be sections for the major denominations (christian, muslem, aitheiest, ect.... ) and a general section so that we don't fight about who is right?

  1. I completely agree.

  2. Yes i agree - and one for Paganism

  3. There would still be spillovers and it wouldn't solve anything except for proper placement of questions.

  4. sounds like a good idea

  5. I agree, however this would manifest itself with three major problems (That I can think of):

    1. Which religions get their own board? Christians, muslims, jews, atheists, and then "other"? Or will we also give boards to Buddhists, Hindus, and Taoists? Will Protestants be separate from Catholics from Lutherans? Do separate subsets of paganism get their own boards? I (being a pantheist) would find very little in common with my beliefs in a discussion of Wicca.

    2. This would make it much easier for trolls to target their audiences. Instead of posting in the general religion forum, they would be able to go into a specific religion and have easy access to a wide audience of people of that religion, instead of just having to hope that the people they're targetting open their question from the general religion section.

    3. What would happen to questions that pertain to multiple religions? If I want to ask "What's the difference between Judaism and Christianity?" would I post that in the Judaism section or the Christianity section?

I would like to see this implemented, but these possible issues would have to be taken into account first in order to make it worthwhile.
