I can't change my group's category out of adult. How do I do it?

I tend to change my group's category every now and then while trying to attract new group members and I recently put my group into an "Adult" theme and unfortunately, some of my subscribers are unable to look into my group now because of where they're signing on from has "Adult Filters" in their networks. I'd like to change my group's category, but the hyperlink in the management area is no longer there. How can I change my group's category to an non-adult theme?

  1. only yahoo can change a group out of adult-

fill out send in this form and be sure to include the category it should be in. you might get an auto reply but that's probably it- no need to over flood with e-mail unless within 24 hrs it's not reset

this has been happening alot and yahoo resets it. people have reported by 24 hours and they often get no reply at all from yahoo, yahoo will just reset it.

this is a glitch- their bots are broken and are changing categories to groups for no apparent reasons

  2. Hope this helps:

How do I know where to properly place my group?

Browse or search through the Yahoo! Groups directory to find the appropriate category. Look for categories that list similar groups or are specifically devoted to your subject.

Note: Adult-oriented groups must be placed in the "Adult" category ("Romance & Relationships > Adult" or other sub-category with the word "adult" in it).

Our team of category editors will review your selection and might change the location of your group. Your group will be listed in the Yahoo! Groups directory within a few days.

  3. Go to "Management" of your group's homepage and then click on the section that says, "Description and Appearance".  In this section toward the bottom of the page you'll find the information for category listing.  Click on "Edit" and you can then make the changes.  Then after that click on "Save".

If you find that still doesn't work then I would recommend getting in touch with a Yahoo Groups customer service representative to see if they can help you to figure out what could be causing the problem.
