for 3 years for a non criminal reason.. He got caught for drink driving and having an open bottle of drink in he car. It's very wrong i know, but 3 years? Here in the UK a rapist and child abuser can get away with under 2 years and something like that gets 3 years? I feel sick to my stomach about it. I can't deal with my fiancee being so depressed about having to live with different serious criminals when he isn't one. It's gonna affect him so badly, what's wrong with people? seriously..

  1. Don't expect the government to make any sense.  Remember it's us against them.

  2. 'fraid he is a criminal as he committed a criminal offence, and it sounds as if this wasn't a first offence, he can appeal if he thinks his sentence is too long, no doubt his solicitor has discussed it with him...trouble is, he could get longer on appeal, he'll be out in 14 months anyway.

  3. If a bloke gets drunk and drives then he committed a crime, therefore he belongs in prison. It's your choice whether or not you drive. He made his.

  4. That is a criminal offense. Unfortunately, he knew what he was doing and took a risk. It doesn't matter what sentences others get, he knew the risk and took it anyway. I suppose he'll be released much earlier, so try to keep your chin up.

  5. THIS WORLD IS SO ........****** UP.........SERIOUSLY

  6. I'm sorry to hear this...it must be hard on both ends!

Well, if this is his first offense, sounds like a harsh punishment.  If not, then he probably had it coming.

I believe there are other ways of letting him know he did something terribly wrong...going to jail doesn't solve everything.  Being on probation, having to do community service and attend classes is much more helpful, in my mind.

    Hang in there!

  7. What if he knocked over a pedestrian?

Laws are there to protect people, British law systems c**p anyway, you can work your sentence down
