The only name my baby's dad said no to is Deion.... but I like it. And I wouldn't do it out of spite but It really is my favorite. I'm not sure how much he is really even going to be in his childs life, but would it be wrong for me to name him that still?

His middle name is going to be James but on the first name I don't know.... your opinions??

Anton

Deion

Robert

Anthoney

  1. I just love the name Anton! It's probably my favorite boys' names.

Anthony (spelled like this) and Robert and nice too because of all the nicknames. You have good taste =)

Though I have to agree with your husband, your other names are a lot better than Deion. I don't hate Deion though.

  2. I like Anthony (without the E) James. Or maybe even Anton James. I really like the initials AJ though.

    Good luck!*

  3. Deion James

  4. Dion is the better spelling i really do not like it but i have heard worse.spelling counts ,keep it simple and spell it right!

    you could name him

anthony james and call him dion maybe?

since you likely will be caring for this child alone cause you are not married then pick what you like but keep it real.good luck!

  5. I named all of my children despite what their father wanted, if you are set on dion then i say go for it !

    I also like the names,

    Kyle

    Brock

    Hunter

    Jadon

    Jonathan

  6. robert is nice too.

  7. out of those 4 i'd say deion but i like jayden james and brandon james but promise me you will not name your kid robert i'd ruin his life

  8. Ooooh, I really like Deion also.  If not Deion, I would say Anton.  Seriously though if you are even THINKING that his dad may not be significant in his life, name your baby what you want to.  It is, of course, his baby also.  But, I'm guessing you know him and you truly know what role he will pay in your child's life.  And if he turns out to be a huge part of his sons life, he is not going to care what his name is.  He will love him regardless.  He can just call him James if he wants to.

  9. I like Deion.

  10. Anthony James is beautiful! Robert James is nice too. I don't like Anton or Deion...I have to agree with the baby's daddy.

    xox- Julie

  11. try Brett James

    or Zachary james

  12. If your baby daddy hates Deion, don't use it. It's all about compromise! I don't like Anthoney's spelling, although Anthony isn't bad. Anton James is cute. I like it the best.

Also? What does race matter? I think the names you've mentioned here work on all races.

  13. I think if the baby's father has expressed a desire to be part of raising the child, it would be polite of you to consider his opinion when it comes to baby names.  You will both be raising this child together, even if you aren't together anymore, so it would be wise to learn to compromise now and to keep your relationship as positive as possible.

If you want a name that sounds a bit different, then I like Anton.  It's similar in sound to Dion, and Anton James flows together really nicely.  Anton the version of Anthony used in Eastern Europe.  It's extremely common in Sweden, but extremely UNcommon in the US.

Robert and Anthony are a little more mainstream, but I still like them, and either sounds good with James.  I prefer the name Robert to Anthony, though I don't particularly have any reason in doing so.  They're both good names.

    Good luck!

  14. try and compromise.
