I can't delete this song from my ipod.

Question

I deleted it from my playlist on the computer but now its still on my ipod and i can't get it off my ipod. what did i do wrong and what can i do?

if you want the song still on the computer, but off the ipod, then check the little box in the ipod screen on itunes that tells you to "sync music manually". this will let you add or delete your music at your will... not the computer's.

now, for both, you can just delete it from itunes, and resync the ipod with your computer... this should make it delete on your ipod.

also, i would always consider getting an application to help you recover your songs from your ipod if you lose anything from your computer, and only have it on your ipod. my personal favorite is touch copy, since it is personalized for the ipod touch (so to speak), but there still may be the one called iDump out there, which is free, and will work for most any ipod out there (yes even the classic, had one and it worked with it). i would still recommend touch copy so you can get quivic as well, which lets you take all movies from your ipod and put them onto your computer as well.

removing it from a playlist keeps it in your itunes library. you have to go to the music section of itunes and find the artist ect and delete it from there then the next time you sync it will be gone

If its deleted on your itunes then as soon as you plug in your ipod it should "sync" and it'll be off just like that. :]
