I can't edit hosts file on windows vista?

Question

okay I can access it but I can't save the file

it says cannot create the ~~~ host file

make sure that path and file name are correct

so then I change "save as file type" to ALL so I can see it and press save, and it goes oh you're gonna save over it and then it says it says the same message about pathwaybeing wrong. so I then tried saving it as a notepad file but then it says the same message. so how thehell do I saveit.

To solve this problem.

First copy the hosts file to another folder "My Document".

Edit the hosts file.

Copy the new hosts file back to the original folder to overwrite the old hosts file.

It is the only way that work.

You have to "right click" the file and open as administrator! Then you can edit it...  (or open notepad as administrator)
