I can't figure out how to change a typing option in word. Help?

I'm having trouble typing in word. Every time I type in the middle of a sentence it writes over the next word. I think there must be some option I accidently changed but I can't figure it out.

The Insert key switches back and forth between insert mode and overtype mode.  Pressing it should fix your problem.

No you didn't change any option....its merely an overwrite function...all u have to do is press insert once when the words u are typing is getting overwrite, or u can click the "OVR" word in your bottom left corner, once it's not highlighted u can type normally.

Are you sure you haven't simply pressed the INSERT key on your keyboard? That makes typing over-write as you describe as it toggles between INSERT and OVERWRITE. Press it once (only once) and see what happens.
