I have a desktop and modem connected to my belkin n wireless router. I also have a laptop with wireless adapters built in. I really need a step by step on how to connect the home network. I can already access the internet through both computers, but I want to be able to transfer files and print from laptop and my printer is connected to my desktop. PLEASE HELP!!!

  1. you need to enable "printer and file sharing" for both computers... they don't need to be in the same workgroup but it saves a little time of they were...

enable the file printer sharing by double cliking the networking icon in control panel(XP).

right click the lan connection and select properties. click "install" and add the file/printer sharing SERVICE.

next thing you'll want to do is check my network places and find the other computer/printer

  2. Not sure, but make sure both pc's are on the same workgroup. Also, enable file sharing. I hope someone can go into more detail about it. If not, google what I'm talking about and I'm pretty sure you'll find a website giving you that info.
