Solve the following equations for y, then find the ordered pairs that satisfy the equation for the given domain?

NUMBER 1

x - y = 1

x {-1, 0, 1}

y=

( -1,__ ), (0,__ ), (1,__ )

NUMBER 2

3x/5 + 2y= -1

x {0, 5, 10}

y=

(0,___) (5,______) (10,______)

NUMBER 3

7x - 2y + 2 = 0

x {0.5, 1.5, 2.5}

y=

(0.5,_____) (1.5,____) (2.5,_____)

  1. For each question, solve for y by itself, then jsut keep adding the X's in and you'll find your Y for each.   i'll do number 1 for you, then you do the rest!!!!!

    -y=-x+1

    y=x-1

    okay now, put -1 in for x and we get  -2

    now put 0 in for x and we get -1

    now put 1 in for x and we get 0

    soo....

    (-1, -2), (0,-1), (1, 0)

  2. for number 1

    if x = -1

    then -1 -y = 1

    move the -1 to the right hand side, so it will be

    -y = 1+1

    -y = 2

    then y = -2

    same as if the x = 0

    then 0-y=1

    so y=-1

    when x = 1

    then 1-y=1

    so y=0

    the answer is ( -1, -2), (0, -1) (1,0)

    same way of solving for number 2 and 3

    just substituting the value of x into the equation

    number 2

    the answer are (0, -1/2) (5, -2) (10, 3.5)

    number 3

    (0.5, 2.75) ( 1.5, 6.25) (2.5, 9.75)
