My husband and I are getting a home loan and we can't find two of his W-2's, which we need. Upon looking for the companies, I found that they are now closed thanks to the mortgage bust and I have no idea how to get copies of them for our broker. Any ideas??

  1. Call the IRS they can send you copies of the W2s you need. It may take a few days to a week to get them but they will arrive. This is done without a fee. Good luck to you.

  2. have them execute a 4506T with the IRS

  3. I'm sure you've filed taxes right? I hope you made copies file all your tax records. If you did then the W-2's should be there. Do you keep your old check stubs? If you do then show the ones at the end of the year. I kept all of mine for some reason. If you don't have neither of these then you need to organize important items better.

  4. You don't need your W2 what you need is a Return Transcript From IRS, a transcript gives all the information you filed on  your tax return.  The loan place wants to know your wages you reported to IRS because that will prove to them you earned what you are stating on your application.

Visit your local IRS office and a print will be issued to you while you wait.

If you want you can download form 4506-T from the IRS website and mail to appropriate address and a print will be sent to you in 17-30 days.

    Or call IRS at 1-800-829-1040

  5. You can obtain your IRS issued W-2s in 1-2 business days from Accuverify.com

  6. So what's wrong with giving them your 1040 tax returns...it has the same info?
