I can't find action figures! why do they call them collectibles if you can't collect them?

I look for Flint 25th anniversary g.i.joe for long time. every store I go I can not find. no one tells me where to find either. my question not about flint i just need to know why they are called collectibles if you can not collect?

This is a major problem for action figure collectibles and for collectors of them.  Many of the toy companies that are making great action figures that are geared for collectors are not making huge numbers of them.  They are producing droves of figures that they expect kids to buy and saturate the market with them, but for the figures geared to kids they produce a limited quantity.  

For the figures that have a lot of detail and great accessories, there is a high cost to produce them.  Companies make fewer of them, but they assure that they will be completely sold out by the collector community.  Often figures like Flint are packed only 1 or 2 for a case of 24 action figures.  Unfortunately in big toy retailers like Toys R' Us, Wal-Mart, or Target, those 1 or 2 figures are intercepted by employees, purchased, and then sold on the secondary market.  That, or there are collectors that know exactly the date when the figures hit the shelves, arrive when the store opens and buy every "collector" geared figure they can locate.  Usually they keep 1,or 2 so they can keep one in the package and open the other, and then sell the others online.

Where does that leave the rest of us?  The best site that I have found to buy figures is Toywiz.  You will pay a little more, but they are very reliable, very reputable, and prompt with shipping.  They have a lot of 5% off coupons as well.  In addition to their site I am leaving you several others to fill your action figure fix.
