  1. Leave the poor child alone.  The MOST important thing to teach her regarding work performance is that regardless of the grade she gets, she did her very best and you are proud of her for that, and you can't win them all.  We can't all be good at everything like you are.........oh wait, you're not so great yourself.  You have made a number of spelling and grammatical errors that violate the most basic and elementary of grammar rules.  Besides, an F from time to time will not hurt her grades any as long as she mostly keeps them up.  A child who never learns how to deal with failure can never really learn how to respect and appreciate success.  You are doing her more harm than good.  The way you are going, she will turn out to be an over-stressed, over-worked over-achiever who is depressed, neurotic and suicidal.  I rather my daughter be a little less than perfect, but happy, well-rounded, adjusted person and know how to enjoy her life.  I know in the long run, in the bigger picture, that she will be ok and grow up to do very well.

  2. If she were born in the 1600s, it's highly likely no pictures of her exist. Unless she were belonging to a family who was wealthy enough to pay for portraiture, they would definitely NOT exist. And even if they did, unless she were someone of real note, her pictures would not appear online. A search for Ann and Anne Blackstreet in google reveals no listing for her. That's a web search, not an image search. So if there are pictures, you need to apply some traditional research techniques like going to the library.

Don't be too hard on your daughter. There's a bit of pot/kettle/black here with regard to 'F' grades.

  3. I'm constantly amazed at the impossible tasks that are set for homework.

Since only wealthy or famous people would have had their portrait painted and the chance of any picture surviving 400 years is slim, I would find a picture of a woman of the same era, country and social class and label it - This is how historians believe Ann Black appeared.

  4. Yeah, her name is actually Anne Black.

I just checked Wikipedia and Google and I coudn't find any pictures of Anne Black. Maybe you try, if you can't find anything maybe you can change your person.

    Good Luck!

    C=

  5. You're the mother?  If "F's" are UNACCEPTABLE in your house, hopefully your daughter will display more skill in spelling in her PROJECT than you did in expressing the question.

Also - photography did not exist in the 1600's.  Unless someone took the time to paint Ms. Blackstreet, there will not be a visual record of her.

  6. Anne Black street is the name of a street in Prescott Ariz.

    Her name was Anne Black.
