I have tried changing the look of the group, adding things to it and uploading interesting content. Why is it not working?

  1. there has to be a topic of interest, and if it is, this will depend on how many other groups also have that same topic. gaining members takes time as well

if your group isn't closed, take that promote code and add it to other sites you may have, create other free sites and put that code on it.

  2. You can advertise your group:

    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/AdBay...

It now has only 23 members but it is growing...

    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Group...

    This group has 3611 members...

    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Group...

    This group has 6611 members.

    http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Group...

This group has 77 members but it is growing...

There are also other ad groups that you can join which are listed in these groups...

  3. I have had my group about 2 months, and for awhile yahoo placed me  definatly in the wrong section. We are a tiny tiny group. But I am picky about who I allow in it. I have 4 friends from years back and 5 others that I met here on questions board.I like it that way.I have had ppl  ask to join, and refuse them for good reasons. But do as the gentleman above stated. If u have a myspace,Put the promote code in there,or geocitys,or even on ur 360 page and open it to the public(ur 360 not the group) I like my small group. We are a eating disorder and mental help  group all in one.But make sure to place ur group in a section of interest! Also spice up ur homepage, I create all my pics and logos with Gimp and photo shop.I change it daily and u would be surprised how many ppl try to join. But very few get in.LOL..By the way, what kind of group are you?R u moderated or public and what is the topic of ur group?I belong to  3 other groups besides my own.I  also belong to a animal rescue and cruelty free group, and I found that group belive it or not in the support area for mental health. He was smart placing it there. It caught my eye!Make sure to detail ur opening description also.PPL are more likely to ask to join if u r specific on what all ur group offers. For every member that  has a disorder in my group, I looked up a file on each disorder, and also did links the same way. That way  others would know about each problem .And I made sure to state that In my description. It is basically a matter of time and getting the word out there.U should add details here in this post and include the link to ur group HUN! That would be awesome advertisment! Good luck sweetie.

  4. How long have you had it?  If it's new, maybe it's not showing up in the group directory yet.  Maybe its not in a category where people would look for your type of group or you don't have good enough keywords in your description so that your group comes up when some one searches for relevant topics.  Mine have sometimes grown fairly slowly, but eventually people join.
