I can't get my a/c unit outside to work?

When I turn my a/c unit on it isn't blowing cold air, I went outside to see if the unit kicked on and it hasn't. I've double checked to see if the t-stat wires were connected right and from what I can tell it is, from the t-stat I have red to r, yellow to y, green to g and white on w. At my gas heater I have all the same hook ups and from my a/c unit line I have yellow on y and white to c is there any thing else I can check to see why the blower isn't working

  1. Keep It Simple Silly....

Check your breaker.  Did you just wire this?  If so you may need to check to diagram.  You may have a breaker that is burnt so take it out and see if that is the case.  Is the breaker to the AC stout enough?

Be safe and shut the main off before you do all of this.

  2. Call a repairman if you cannot check fuses ou best let a pro do it.

  3. Check the fuses too. There should be some fuses outside in the fan unit and inside in the blower unit. I had a 20 cent fuse blow last year on a day that was 100+ degrees.

  4. Check the breaker

  5. It sounds like you are having trouble with the condensing unit (the one outside).

It could be bad compressor or low on refrigerant.

    Call a service guy.

  6. did it freeze up?

  7. Hi,Believe a residential installation has a set of fuses installed in a box or fuse block in the incoming line to the air unit. You just pull these out and check them or replace both at the same time.So take a look and I hope this solves your problem.Good Luck.

  8. confused why the blower is not working or your condenser ? if your blower is on and the condenser is not then you have either a low voltage wire problem breaker or contactor problem if nothing comes on you have either a transformer fuse breaker and or short in your low voltage

  9. If the freon level is too low-or too high- the unit should trip out. There may be a reset button on the unit outside. It will be a small red button. It should be near the freon line connections.

If the compressor is running but the fan is not- then the fan is bad. It happens. You may can replace it yourself.
