I have Windows XP, and I can't get it to start.

I just put the disk in, the little green light flashes, I hear it spinning, then it stops. I try to open the disk thing, and it won't open. So I stick a pin in the hole next to the opener, and it comes out. So I try again. And it still wont work. What do I do?

  1. do other disks work?  If other disks work, do you have the right kind of drive for Sims2?  sometimes Sims games come on PC DVD disks, which will not play in CD-rom drives.  If other games work, then either the Sims disk is scratched or damaged, or it is a DVD, and you have only a CD drive.  If no disks work, especially disks that you know worked before, then you disk drive is damaged and you need a new one.

  2. Well if its used or in some cases brand new it could be corrupted or scratched! Put it in the disk driver and see if anything pops up if not try going to my computer and go to the cd rom drive and double click then install! if that does not work try to clean it with a tissue and water! then try these steps again if it does not work still i reccomend you take it back to the store in whick you bought it!
