I need help getting my contacts in. It's like this sudden reflex I get I just start closing my eyes. I don't know people who wear contacts to tell me what to do and I also never wore contacts in my life.

Thanks.

  1. I've recently just gotten contacts. I couldn't get them out or put them back in. It took well over twenty minutes. Poking objects into your eye, not appealing at all.

The eye doctor told me to grab under your top lashes, pull up and hold tight. Put the contact on your index finger of your other hand, and pull your bottom lash down tightly with your middle finger. Then go in. I have trouble with the contact sticking to my finger. Make sure your finger is completely dry so the contact doesn't stick. You'll eventually get use to it. Taking them out is what I find a pain.  Good luck! Hope this becomes easier for you.

  2. i had the same problem. it took me two appointments to get them. i cant put to contact directly on my eyeball, so i put my head down, pull down lower lid, than put contact on the white part, than gently blink, and push the contact up with the lower lid. its soooo much easeir :)

  3. Well yeah, your eye has a natural need to close when something is coming at it.  I will usually pull my bottom lid down, have my eyes look up (so they don't see something is coming) and then put my contact in.  You don't have to get it right in the middle of your eye.  Once you start to blink, the contact will adjust itself to the right place.  It takes a lot of practice to get it right.  Don't get frustrated with it.  If you find you are, take a break from it and then go back to it again.  I've had contacts for 12 years now and I can put them in now without a mirror and even in the car.

  4. ok so which ever hand your dominant with put the lense on your pointer finger. With the tips of your fingers on your other hand lift your top lid up a bit. Then with the hand the lense is on use your middle finger to bring down your lower eyelid. Then put the contact in and rub it around a bit to get used to it in your eye. Let go of your eyelids and blink a few times. Don't be scared, it's just something to get used to.
