I have just bought a Kenwood KDC-W3041A to replace the existing radio in a 1999 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0L Envoy but cannot get it to work. I know power is getting to it at the CD player makes noises when I press the eject button but the radio will not work when I try to turn it on. Nothing appears on the screen. I have a blue/white cable and a brown cable free (power control/motor antenna control cable and mute cable respectively) and not sure whether these should be connected to somewhere. Any helpful comments would be appeciated.

  1. i think that vauxhall changed the wireing in some pre 2000 models, you  may have the ground and the live mixed up(black is live and brown nuteral)

  2. The iso wiring connections are different on vauxhalls ie the power supply and memory backup are different. You need to purchase a wiring harness converter from halfords or an audio store which will cost approx £ 5.00 the connector will have a blue wire feed which will power the aerial.  Warning plugging the radio Directly into the oem iso connection will damage the radio equipment as it has a speed sensor power signal.

  3. you have to hook up the back up battery should be yellow i think into the power try that and see what happens
