I can't get my videos from my camcorder onto my laptop!!!help?

I have the Canon DVD camcorder DC220...and the hp pavillion dv6000 entertainment laptop...it runs windows vista...i did what the camcorders instruction manual said, and it just read the camcorder as a blank dvd...HELP...DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!!

If your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive, rip the video with HandBrake:

DVD camcorders were a good idea, but poorly implemented. Their video was never meant to be edited. Expect less than good quality.

Did you finalize the DVD?.  You have to finalize the DVD in order to see it on your laptop.
