Question:

I can't get the freewheel off!?

I need to replace the bearings on a rear wheel (it's a Falcon hub) but I can't get the freewheel off. I got the correct Park tool but I can't get it to break loose. The Park manual says it turns off counterclockwise but I've put enough force on it to distort the tool and it still won't go.

Am I missing something? I'm thinking of putting an air impact wrench on it.

  1. Dynamite should do the trick.

  2. Take it to a bike shop, its probably seized.

  3. Spray lots of WD40 on it.  Let it sit.

Or the freewheel was misaligned when it was screwed on.  Then we got trouble.
