Is it operated with a handle that moves it up and down? If so, look under the sink at the rear of the drain pipe. You will see a lever with a rod that goes into the drain pipe. There is a "nut" at the pipe you can unscrew and remove the rod. Then you can remove the stopper.

if it is a free plug thens its just stuck, If it is a Pop up and down plug then NO dont pull. There is a nut on the back of the waste drain pipe that has to be taken off first.,
