I know that I need to type 192.168.2.1 in my browser to acces in the Belkin router page. But when I do that, It just takes me to a search results page. So I went to Start> Run> typed cmd> typed ipconfig> and found my default gateway. Instead of 192.168.2.1....it is 68.183.19.1. How did my default gateway change? when I typed the 68.183.19.1 it takes to a dslextreme page. But my connection is Belkin and it is supposed to be 192.168.2.1 to acces my belkin router. How can i changed this back to normal so I can access my belkin router. How to fix this?

  1. Since you seem to know how to work with IP's. Try the following.

Unplug power to the router. Unplug the cable to the modem from the router. Then do all of the following without an internet connection to the router.

Plug power back on to the router, wait for it to boot. Then check and see what IP's you have and what gateway. If you have none then your DHCP server in the router has taken a vacation.

IF the DHCP of the router has stopped. try resetting the factory defaults. On Belkins, I think there is a small reset button UNDER the unit. Press that with a paper clip (with the unit on) hold it for about 15 seconds until the lights blink off and back on.. see if you have an IP.  Failing that.. you have a router in need of service.

  2. Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
