I am 13 years old, and I have had this problem for a while. My room is really small, and I have so much stuff. I have my TV, which is on a stand, which is a TV case/bookcase. The bookcase is filled with old books that I read in Kindergarten. On top of the bookcase, my DVD player sits, and on the floor, I have my Wii, and my Wii Fit in the corner. On my desk, I have my laptop, my stationary case, which is empty, a small mirror that a friend bought me, all of my school excersise books, and textbooks. I also have a lava lamp, and lots of random stuff, like photos, CD cases and Monopoly money. On my floor, I have some random stuff like shoes, clothes, my Motocross helmet, because it doesn't fit anywhere else, my violin, and under my bed there are dolls from when I was about 10. (Over 60 Bratz and Barbies). Can someone help me come up with a checklist of things to do? It's 11.30am here in Sydney, so I have all day. My parents promised a room makeover if I can keep it clean for over a month.

  1. Clean out the things you don't need that are making clutter in your room. [the old books] the monopoly money needs to go in the monopoly box. get little storage bins to organize your things so that they are not laying around. Also once your room is clean, make sure to keep it clean. it is easier to pick up random things laying around than having to clean for a whole day.

    Hope I helped

  2. FIrst of all, become a member of Pack Rat Annonymous and get rid of what you truly don;t need.  Give stuff to an orphanage or needy children who have nothing.  Then get some of those plastic open-front crates from some inexpensive place like Big Lots and stack them on the floor on one wall of your room, one on top of the other (not too high, tho) and just start putting stuff in them.  Once your room is picked up, and you take something out of one of those cubes (crates), put it back where it belongs when you're through with it.  Simple as that.  It just takes a little effort and persistence on your part.  You'll get that room make-over in no time : D

  3. well first get a huge trash bag or cardboard box and stuff your kindergarten books in there, with ur bratz and barbies from under your bed. and put the random stuff there with your stationary set too.and find something to fill the empty spot with like your excercise books, and textbooks. and when you take something always put it back in the same place , so you cood remember where it is. keep a list of where your things are. like this:

dolls: in box thats in the closet

    books i need:on t.v. shelf

    and so on...

if u need anything else just umm well search my name.

ps. im only 11 years old and i think my room is the same size and thats how i get it clean.. the same way i told you just now. oh and in new jersey its 9:48 pm

  4. I still can't keep my room clean. Seriously, if it's not dirty & it's just messy (as in no germs, just stuff) it might be a lost cause to try to be different. =o) I've been trying for 40 years & yeah, Yikes.

However, what I would beg for is containers, they have all sorts of containers, colors, sizes, out of wood, baskets, boxes, plastic, name it... if you can make a deal with your parents to get you some of these, go buy a variety of sizes, keep them the same types (like baskets or cloth bins) & same colors, & store all your things in them. I personally use photo boxes for everything. They stack well & hold a lot of stuff, so it almost give the illusion that you're organized. I got everyone fooled. sort of...

  5. Clean out.

I had to clean out my room before remodeling and i just threw out like everything i wasnt using and now it takes like 10 minutes to clean my room

    Or

take all the stuff from when you were younger and put them in a box and then put them in a closet or something so that you still have them but there out of the way
