  1. If you are renting, call your landlord. He is obligated to fix this type of problem right away.

If you are the owner, and don't know what to do, call a handyman.

  2. Two solutions:

Get an air conditioner and the door will retract like in the windertime.

    Or...

Get one of those wood scrapers and scrape the door down a little bit.

  3. Using weather strip is the best way to keep the moist air from your door jambs' edges that end up swelling the end grain causing the door to swell and not close. However, using weather strip is a technique installation and you have to be carefull about how tight you get the weather strip. Your first inclination is to hold the weather strip tight against the door  while you s***w the weather strip frame  to the door jamb. Opps! wrong. The door should be closed, then set the strip against the door. Do not push it against the door, but just touching is good enough, then s***w it to the jamb while continuing to check the "just touching technique"at the strip.                                                                 You may have another issue with your door not closing in that other framing may also have swelled or shifted causing the door latch to be either to high or to low .Check this by taking a flash light near the strike plate and look between the strike plate and the latch bolt with the door almost closed and with a pencel mark  the top and bottom of the  latch bolt on the edge of the strike plate. Open the door and look to see if your mark is lined up on or above the strike plate hole. If it's on the hole then the strike plate needs to be adjusted . You might also check to see if the screws in the hinges are tight. If not then tighten them.
