  1. brown

  2. Working formula is

    Vf^2 - Vo^2 = 2gs

    where

    Vf = final velocity = velocity at which bear was hit = 10 m/sec (given)

    Vo = initial velocity = 0 (ball was dropped)

    g = acceleration due to gravity

    s = distance at which ball was dropped = 6 m (given)

    Substituting values,

    10^2 - 0 = 2(g)(6)

    100 = 12(g)

    g = 8.333 m/sec^2

    Wherever the ball was dropped, the acceleration due to gravity must be at least 8.333 m/sec^2 (lower than the normal acceleration due to gravity of 9.8 m/sec).

    Your mission now is to find this place. If, for example, you find that the North Pole is where the acceleration of gravity is around 8.333 m/sec^2, then the color of the bear is white.
